WAM's Firefox Extensions
I've just posted the list of browser extensions I currently use within Firefox.
As you might expect, some of the extensions are used more than others but almost all of them do get used regularly. With 36 installed extensions, it might seem like I'm not that selective, when in fact I consider pretty diligent in removing the cruft that is not used or usefull. Still, there are some extensions which are just must haves for me, and they include:
- adblock
- Kills annoying ad images, frames, popups, javascript and the like.
- All-in-One Sidebar
- Extensions, downloads, bookmarks, split multiple side-by-side web pages, and a customizable yet collapsible toolbar in the sidebar slot. Really well done.
- Mozex
- Allows me to edit textareas (like the one this blog is posted through, or the wiki's I use at work) from my preferred text editor.
- ScrapBook
- Capture, edit/annotate, and save a website on your local computer for later reference or review (great for doing work while stuck on a plane).
- Tab Mix Plus
- Nearly all the tab goodness you might want. (When combined with tab-preview, makes for a really nice power-browsing session).
Honorable mention go out to ListZilla which allows me to dump my list of extensions (along with URLs and a mini description) as HTML or as text. Also, my newest extension is Firebug, an interactive JavaScript debugger and console, as well as providing a great DOM navigator and CSS query tool.
